Meeting Recap: 
Wednesday, November 16th, 2011
I wanted to recap all our decisions and planned
processes to make sure we are all on the same page. Please let me know if
there are some mistakes or confusion:
1. All our classmates are invited, whether they made the
actual graduation date or not.
2. Preston will search for our teachers with the idea
that they would also be invited.
3. No committee member objects to having his/her address
and phone number listed on the website.
4. Everyone agreed that a DJ would be less intrusive and
cheaper than a live band. (We have the name and recommendation of the DJ from
the class of '61. Will send more info on this later.)
5. Tom and Chuck will post on the website the list of
accomodations for out-of-towners. It will elaborate on the "yummy" breakfasts
and the "comfy" rooms!
6. As mentioned, we have publicity on
Classmates.com,
the Bloom Alumni website, and the Southland Stars. Ken and Roseann think Chuck
would be better at setting up a Facebook page for us, but they are willing to
assist in any way if needed.
7. There was unanimous agreement that Feb. 1 would be
the deadline for all of us to get our list corrected and completed. We need to
get in contact with each classmate on our list by phone or email, and make
sure that all their information is correct. Also, we can direct them to
Chuck's wonderful website to get more info on the reunion and the whereabouts
of fellow classmates. (Make sure to pass all corrections on to Chuck for the
master list.)
8. Jennifer, the banquet manager of ICC, will email me
various menus based on a price of $35-40 per person. I'll then pass them on to
you all and we can revise and refine our choices til we are satisfied. The
March meeting will be enough time ahead to finalize the menu. Most of us felt
the idea of "food stations" would be the best.
9. Preston, our dear fellow alum and BTHS teacher, has
offered to take pictures of the Trojan on the foyer floor to pass on to Chuck
for the website.
10.One idea we didn't have time to cover: ask and invite
each classmate to send any programs, pictures, copies of the school newspaper,
the words and music to the school song, dance books from Homecoming and Prom,
etc. The memorablia could be displayed or copied; we can decide this
spring/summer.
11.Our next meeting will be March 7th (14th as an
alternative) at 6:30 PMagain. Place to be determined.
